MEMORIES OF A HIBAKUSHA

A 7-episode sound fiction inspired by true events

High in the sky over Tinian Island, Robert Lewis, the co-pilot of the B-29 Enola Gay, cried out in 1945: "What have we done? Even if I live to be a hundred years old, I will always remember these few minutes."

At an altitude of 580 meters and after 43 seconds of free fall, seven hundred grams of uranium 235 entered into fission in the heart of Little Boy. On the ground, more than one hundred thousand people died instantly from the explosion and burns, or from radiation a few weeks later.

"I haven't been back here since the bombing. The sun still has the same ritual. It seems calm and immortal unlike us."
