CHILE,
The Pact of Silence

Discover a documentary series in 4 episodes retracing the history of the coup d'état of September 11, 1973 and the Chilean dictatorship, mixing historical facts and testimonies.

"How can I release this memory without it turning into oblivion? So, echoing myself, I told him that I agreed to accompany him. To enter his prison in order to leave it together. I asked him to understand that together, we would see more, that we had to take into account and add episodes that he had ignored at that time, although he had been very close to the facts. In this way, the words of those who are no longer here or who were not listened to could continue to live with us."

On September 11, 1973, what had been a dream for many—to bring about profound change without resorting to violence and to improve the lives of the poorest through peaceful reforms—became a nightmare. On that day, a military coup overthrew the democratically elected government of Salvador Allende, plunging Chile into a dark period of repression and terror.
